Commissioned for <i>Slipstream<\/i>, a series of covert internet-based. Boyce\u2019s work takes the form of covert online &#8220;glitches&#8221;\u2014unexpected ringtones and sound fragments embedded in digital spaces\u2014that subtly disrupt the flow of web usage. These haunting audio traces draw attention to the erasure of Black cultural figures in European popular memory, reframing Lynott\u2019s presence as both spectral and subversive.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rooted in Boyce\u2019s long-standing interest in collaboration, improvisation, and the politics of representation, the piece extends her inquiry into how Black identities are seen, remembered, and reinserted into dominant cultural narratives.\u00a0<i>Phil Lynott Rocks<\/i>\u00a0underscores Boyce\u2019s ongoing engagement with embodied, collective creativity and her challenge to traditional hierarchies in the art world.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The project sits within a broader practice that spans installation, sound, photography, and performance, and complements works like\u00a0<i>The Audition<\/i>\u00a0(1997) and\u00a0<i>Do You Want to Touch?<\/i>\u00a0(1996\u201397), which explore the material and symbolic presence of the Black body.
